1. How does Maximiles work?

How does Maximiles work?

Maximiles is the premier internet based loyalty rewards programme, with over 600 partners waiting to reward you for using their services. The principle behind Maximiles is very simple: Shop, register or play with one of our partners and you will be rewarded with a certain amount of points depending on the offer. These "Maximiles" points can then be exchanged for hundreds of gifts from our rewards catalogue.

Simply log into Maximiles.co.uk and go through to your chosen partner. In some places ("Full Loyalty Partners") Maximiles points can be collected directly on the partner site, without first visiting Maximiles.co.uk. Simply look for the "Collect points" symbol at the checkout. You can also collect Maximiles points by responding to special offer emails and completing polls and surveys.

You can watch the progress of your account balance in your personal account. When you have accumulated enough Maximiles points why not take a look through our rewards catalogue and exchange them for a free gift.

Please note: In order to receive points from our non-loyalty partners, you need to click through using the links on the Maximiles website. Clicking through the links is very important because without it Maximiles will not receive reports associated to the purchase or activity you've completed and therefore will not be able to credit you with points. Unfortunately we are unable to credit points to an account retrospectively if this process has not been followed.

Is Maximiles actually free?

Yes, joining Maximiles is absolutely free. Not only will you not have to pay a thing to join but you can collect up to 100 Maximiles points as a welcome gift. Tell us a bit more about yourself and we will give you another 15 points! You'll see it's very quick to collect enough Maximiles points to start rewarding yourself.

Can I exchange my Maximiles points for cash?

Maximiles do not offer this service as we believe in quality aspirational rewards that are reasonably priced for our members. Some of our competitors require their members to earn many thousands of points before their members are able to recieve a cheque. Here at Maximiles.co.uk we like to see our members getting rewarded as soon as possible. If the reward you are looking for is not available, there is always a great range of vouchers for you to choose from.

Can I redeem for rewards that are not in the rewards catalogue?

In certain reward categories there is the option to search for any rewards from the category supplier. So within the "Gadgets, toys & gifts" category for example, it is possible to search the entire iwantoneofthose.com site. The "DVDs" category will search the whole DVD.co.uk site, while the "Books" category will search Blah.co.uk. You can also redeem Maximiles points for vouchers from a whole range of great partners should you still not be able to find anything you fancy.

How long are my Maximiles points valid for?

There is no time limit for using your points. As long is your account is active any Maximiles points you earn will remain valid. Our goal is to develop a long-term relationship with our members. Therefore, following a long period of inactivity on your part, we will remind you of your Maximiles points balance and that you can spend them on rewards. If you do not collect Maximiles points or access your account for 12 months, we may remove the points from your account, but we will always remind you first.

I share my computer, how can I ensure that Maximiles points are credited to my account?

For identifying and awarding Maximiles points to its members Maximiles.co.uk assigns cookies to each user's account. If you use a shared computer, for example at university, internet cafes or work, it is possible that the tracking cookies of other members can be stored on the computer. As Maximiles points will be awarded automatically to the last active cookie it is important to make sure you have activated your own cookie by logging into your account at the start of each session.

3. Using Maximiles

I've just joined, how do I start collecting Maximiles points?

It's simple.
Firstly you may notice when you login, on the right hand side of the homepage there are some polls available for you to complete. Whilst these only offer 5 points they are completely free, are quick to complete and appear regularly on the site. Then why not browse the "Top Offers" on the homepage, the earning categories down the left hand side, or through the "Free points" section and take a look at the partners on offer.
Each partner will have a points value next to it in pink which tells you how many Maximiles points you will receive. Clicking on a partner will take you through to a detail page which will give you more information on the partner and what you must do to receive the points. Clicking the "Take Me There" button will allow you to visit that site. Shop or register as you would normally on this site and points will be credited to your account automatically within 90 days. Maximiles points can also be collected by responding to special offer emails, clicking on certain banners and completing member surveys which you can receive from time to time.

Where do I find information on how to collect Maximiles points with each partner?

Each partner will have a points value next to it in pink which tells you how many Maximiles points you will receive for performing a specific action. Clicking on a partner will take you through to a detail page which will give you more information on the partner and what you must do to qualify for the points. Please take special note of this section as some partners require strict conditions to be met before points can be awarded.

How long will my Maximiles points take to enter my account?

The amount of time points take to go into your account is dependent upon the partner which is issuing them. In order to be rewarded promptly, please ensure that if you are required to give an email address on a partner's site that you use your Maximiles sign-up email address. Some partners will only take a couple of days to report a transaction and points issued for polls and special offer emails will be virtually instantaneous. However, please be aware that some points can take up to 90 days to arrive in your account, but in rare cases longer than that. Unfortunately Maximiles are unable to follow up any query tickets that have been sent before the 90 day period has expired.

Please note: In order to receive Maximiles points from our non-loyalty partners, you need to click through using the links on the Maximiles website. Clicking through the links is very important because without it Maximiles will not receive reports associated to the purchase or activity you've completed on the partner's site and therefore won't be able to credit you with Maximiles points. Unfortunately we are unable to credit points to an account retrospectively if this process has not been followed.

How do I maximize the amount of Maximiles points I collect?

The more you purchase and the more you subscribe to other services offered by our partners, the faster your Maximiles account will grow. New partners are always joining Maximiles, so it will become even easier to find the best offers on the net. Just remember to keep checking the Maximiles site for new polls and special offers. Signing up to paid survey sites like Surveys.com can be another great way to maximize your income. Not only do you collect points for signing up, but also for each survey you complete. Sign up to a paid for browser like Webfetch.co.uk to be rewarded just for searching the internet. The largest points hauls are often found in the casinos, bingos and gambling sections. Not only can a single transaction result in up to 10,000 Maximiles points but many casinos will double your initial deposit... and you never know you might win something! Lastly, there are hundreds of points to be had each month for responding to special offer emails, remember to set your account to accept them in "Personal Information".

"Full Loyalty" and "non-loyalty" partners.

The Full Loyalty Partners are merchants that have a special agreement with Maximiles so you can get rewarded when using their website, even without clicking through from Maximiles.co.uk. Generally, during the order confirmation section an option will appear which asks you if you would like to collect the Maximiles points for your order. You will then be asked to enter your Maximiles log-in. Usually Maximiles points are credited to your account once the items you've ordered have been dispatched. You can tell which partners are Full Loyalty Partners on the A-Z screen. Full Loyalty Partners by the small star symbol which appears next to the partner's name. Also, look out for the Maximiles logo on a Full Loyalty Partner's homepage.

However, in order to receive Maximiles points from our non-loyalty partners, you need to click through using the links on the Maximiles website. Clicking through the links is very important because without it Maximiles will not receive reports associated to the purchase or activity you've completed on the partner's site and therefore won't be able to credit you with Maximiles points.

4. Exchanging Maximiles points for rewards

What rewards can I get with my Maximiles points?

There are literally thousands of rewards to choose from. Simply visit our "Spend points" section where we have a selection of products and experiences for everyone. We have everything from DVDs and CDs to experience days and cases of wine. Be sure to check the rewards section regularly because we constantly extend our range.

How do I exchange my Maximiles points for rewards?

When you have chosen a product in our rewards catalogue, click the "Add to Basket" button at the bottom of the reward detail page. If you do not have sufficient points for a reward you will not be allowed to add a reward to your basket. Depending on how long it has been since you last logged in, you may be asked to confirm your log-in and password. You will then be taken to a "Rewards basket page" where you can confirm, cancel or add more rewards to your order. Once you are satisfied with your order click the "Complete your order" button to be taken to a screen where you need to confirm your delivery address and enter your password one last time. Clicking on the "Confirm my order" button will then complete the order and take you to a confirmation page. Maximiles points will be removed from your account, and an email will be sent to you with details of the transaction.

The procedure is similar to other online shops. The only difference is the currency: here you pay with Maximiles points. Following successful processing of the order you will normally receive the reward within 10 working days. If there is a delay please notify us immediately. Unfortunately, it is normally not possible to change or cancel the order once it has been submitted. We need to follow this policy to keep the price of rewards as low as possible.

Can I order more than one reward at a time?

Yes. So long as you have enough points in your account you can order as many rewards at once as you like.

What's the minimum Maximiles points I need to collect a reward?

In contrast to some other loyalty programmes you don't need to spend years collecting points before you qualify for a reward. The standard minimum redemption level is 2000 points which will allow you to get DVDs, CDs, books plus loads of other rewards.

However we regularly have special reward promotions where you can pick up cheap rewards for just a few hundred points. These reward promotions are limited to the number of products available so remember to act quickly when you see one and check the site regularly.

Who sends out my rewards?

In most cases actual delivery of rewards is handled by external suppliers although Maximiles will pay for and order the reward on your behalf. Maximiles will also remain as a contact between the supplier and customer until the reward has been delivered. Please be aware that in most cases rewards will take 14 working days (Mon-Fri) to be delivered. In some cases this can be longer. If there is a delay please notify us immediately and we will contact the supplier regarding your delivery. Please ensure that you use the query system provided as this allows us to build up a picture of where we can improve our service. Unfortunately we are unable to respond to queries where 14 working days have not elapsed.

Can my reward be sent outside the UK?

Maximiles is a UK based loyalty programme and as such unfortunately we are unable to send rewards to outside of the UK.

How do I cancel/modify my reward order?

Unfortunately we cannot cancel orders which we have forwarded to our reward suppliers, so once orders have been submitted the transaction is final. Also, it is not possible to reclaim the Maximiles points by returning Rewards to the sender. We need to follow this policy to keep the price of the rewards as low as possible.

6. Problems with my account

I've not yet received my Maximiles points.

Firstly please ensure that you have correctly met the conditions for earning Maximiles points with a given partner. These can be found on the detail page of a partner under "How to earn". If it was a "Full Loyalty" partner ensure that you collected your Maximiles points on the confirmation page of that site. Points can sometimes take 90 days to be credited to an account depending on the partner. Please note that we are only able to respond to missing points queries where members have waited longer than 90 days to be credited with their points.

If the correct conditions have been met and 90 days have elapsed please contact customer services using the form provided. Please include as much information on the transaction (order/account numbers, confirmation emails, date etc.) as possible to help us track your transaction more quickly.

I have not yet received my reward.

Most Rewards take up to 14 working days (Mon-Fri) to be delivered and magazine subscriptions can take anywhere between 4 - 6 weeks. If you have not received your reward within 14 working days, please contact customer services detailing which reward you are still waiting for.

I have a problem with my login or account details. What do I do?

You can access and edit your login and account details in the "My personal information" page in the "My account" section. If for some reason you are unable to edit these details to suit your needs, or are unable to access your account please contact customer services.

I've forgotten my password. What do I do?

If you have forgotten your password Maximiles can email you a reminder. Below the login box on the right hand side of the homepage you'll find the "Username/password reminder" link. Clicking on this will activate a pop-up where you are asked to enter your email address. Your password will then be sent to you via email. If you don't know the email address that relates to your account, please contact customer services with your name, postal address and date of birth details so we can identify your account.

I want to change my email address but the system says the email already exists. What do I do?

This can occur if you have set up another account by mistake and your current email address is already in use in our database. Please provide customer services with your current and former email address plus the passwords of the account and we will merge the accounts for you stating which account you want to keep. All non free points will be transferred to the new account.

I did not see anywhere to collect Maximiles points on the partner's site.

In the majority of cases you will not see any reference to Maximiles on our partners' sites (please see above "Full Loyalty and non-loyalty partners"). In the case of "non-loyalty" partners Maximiles points will be earned and awarded to your account automatically and you must therefore ensure that you go to your chosen partner via the Maximiles website in order for your transaction to be registered. However, in the case of "Full Loyalty" partners you will be prompted to claim your Maximiles points on the order confirmation page of that site. With "Full Loyalty" partners you do not necessarily have to go via the Maximiles site, however you must claim your Maximiles points when prompted on the confirmation page.

I didn't click through to the partner from Maximiles.co.uk. Can I still collect my Maximiles points?

Unfortunately we are unable to award points retrospectively in this manner in the case of "non-loyalty" partners (please see above "Full Loyalty and non-loyalty partners"). Clicking through the links is very important because without it Maximiles will not receive reports associated to the purchase or activity you've completed on the partner's site and therefore won't be able to credit you with points. Unfortunately we are unable to credit points to an account retrospectively if this process has not been followed. In the case of "Full Loyalty" partners it is not necessary to click through from Maximiles.co.uk. With these partners you collect Maximiles points on the confirmation page of that partner.

The partner I have earned Maximiles points with is no longer on site. Will I still receive my points?

If the partner was on the site at the time of your transaction (i.e. you clicked through from the Maximiles site) then yes your points will still be awarded. If however it was a partner that was previously featured on the site but was no longer there at the time of your transaction then unfortunately we will be unable to award points to your account.

My account has been credited but not with the correct amount of Maximiles points. What do I do?

Firstly please ensure that you have met all the conditions necessary for earning Maximiles points with the partner. These can be found on the detail page of a partner under "How to earn". If it was a "Full Loyalty" partner ensure that you collected your points on the confirmation page of that site. Please note that where partners have various ways to earn (for example free registrations and purchases) some Maximiles points can take longer to reach the account than others. Maximiles points can sometimes take 90 days to be credited to an account depending on the partner and offer.

I have ordered a reward but there has been a change to my delivery address.

Please ensure you have the correct address entered in your personal information in the "My account" section.

Please be advised that delivery addresses are not completed by the information which we have on file for you, these are manually entered at the time of redemption and as such is the members responsibility to ensure all details are correctly filled in.

7. Why did ipoints change its name to Maximiles?

Why the change?

ipoints has been owned and run by the European loyalty programme specialists Maximiles for the last 3 years. The Maximiles loyalty programme is a household name across many countries in Europe, providing a great service to millions of customers. As part of our commitment to providing our members with the best experience possible we felt it was time ipoints got brought up to date a little and became part of the Maximiles family.

Is it just the name that has changed?

No, the website has also be updated to a shiny new one! Over the past year or so we've been asking our members about improvements to the website that they would like to see, so we've made big changes to the way it looks and to how easy it is to use.

But it doesn't stop there. We've also been listening to our members about what it's like to be a member. Over the next year we're making improvements to the way we work and the service we provide to our members and making sure ipoints… ahem, sorry Maximiles, is a community that everyone enjoys being part of.

What difference does this make to my account?

Your account is exactly the same as before. Your ipoints have been converted into Maximiles points automatically and their value has not changed. The amount of points you receive for shopping and completing offers, as well as the cost of rewards has also stayed the same.

On top of this you will see that the special offer emails and newsletters you receive come from Maximiles instead of ipoints so it might be a good idea to add specialoffers@maximiles.co.uk to your address book just to make sure you're not missing out on any free points of exclusive offers.

Do I have to do anything?

No, you don't need to do anything. Just keep looking out for great offers at www.maximiles.co.uk and keep rewarding yourself for all the stuff you do online.
